On the path of this life

On the path of this life one cannot just say we are the right ones and they are the wrong ones. That in itself is the wrong path because it leads to excluding other possibilities. Instead, we should be open to listening to those with different ideas than what we have. We are all needed to work together with all of our various ideas to figure out how they navigate this life more precisely. Indeed, there are some paths on this life that seem just plain wrong. But just because we disagree with them does not mean that we are on the right path and it does not mean that they are wrong. We need to get outside of our own selves and look at even our own thinking from different points of view and to examine it closely. Sometimes we need help from the other side to examine our own thinking because we sometimes cannot see the flaws in our own thinking. So, the follow-up on this is that we need to do more listening than we do talking. We do not need to prove ourselves right as much as we need to listen to why the other person thinks the way that they do. We will probably learn more from listening to someone who thinks differently then we do then from listening to those who agree with us and confirm our thinking. That confirmation-bias just keeps us rooted and trapped in our ineffective ways of thinking.
