the Value of Cleaning

In some ways I'm a ..... probably more than most people. I'm very aware of the presence of germs and other contaminants all over the place. It doesn't stop me from living, but .... Whenever I've petted the dog and I'm about to eat, I'll wash my hands. When I'm cutting up raw meat, I realize how important it is to keep the raw meat away from any surface that it might contaminate. I don't use the same knife to cut up raw meat and then to cut up raw vegetables for the salad. Before I use my hands to handle food I first wash my hands. My rule of thumb here is tha once I've cleansed my hands I don't let my hands touch anything else but the food until I'm done. No scratching of my head, no picking my nose, no covering my mouth with my hands when I cough. No lifting the lid on the garbage can with my hands. This list goes on and on. Whenever my hands or other parts of my body get into something that .... I was up with soap and water. If appropriate, I may also use a disinfectant. The soap and disinfectant allow me to "get my hands dirty" in all kinds of ways. I'm not afraid to get dirty because I know that I will be washing up afterwards. With that said, I don't go around washing my hands all the time, only when I'm involved in a "keep-it-clean" activity.
