Doctrines Are Divisive Opinions Masquerading as Truth
Submitted by Stephen WintersDoctrines are not facts, but they are only opinions. Doctrines are one of the major barriers that separate people. They make it impossible for people of honor and good character to join and become part of a wide variety of churches. It is my opinion that churches should throw away their docrinal opinions and just focus on love, which is the greatest...
Many churches falsely believe that they need to maintain their doctrines to "keep their church pure" or "on track" or "separate from the world." These false assumptions are part of what is destroying the churches.

Is God Real? Is There a God?
Submitted by Stephen WintersIs there really a God, or is it all a fake? Should you believe in god, or should you not believe in God? What difference does it make anyway? This article is not intended to try to prove or disprove the existance of God. Rather, it is an attempt to get you to think deeply about what you believe about God and how that belief affects your thinking and behavior.
Christians try to prove that their is a god by quoting some words that have been written in a Book? Does that prove there is a God? Not really, that is just endless babbling that doesn't prove anything.

Watch the Actions More than the Words
Submitted by Stephen WintersBlogs:Over my 65 years I have heard many fancy speakers who said nice sounding words.
People can say nice sounding or flattering words. However, watch their actions, see what they have done. See if their track record lines up with the words that they speak.

Religion and Relationships
Submitted by Stephen WintersReligion can be so destructive to relationships. It says, "you have to believe like I do or we can't be true friends." Religion sets up the barriers to friendships, "saved versus unsaved, or lost" heaven or hell
How many people have been griefstricken for countless years for fear that their friends or relatives are going to hell? How much better could their time have been spend on just spending time and interacting with each person? However, the religious mental barrier keeps telling the religious person, "he is unsaved, what can I go to get him saved" or .......

Belief is Not Knowledge.... or Evidence
Submitted by Stephen WintersI recently was watching (or rather listening to) a you tube video.
He made this statement
"Belief is not knowledge. Belief is simply an assertion.... Belief is not evidence. Any time you have to accept an assertion by faith, you are admitting that assertion cannot be accepted on its own merits. It doesn't have the strength to be accepted as perhaps any other scientific hypotheses would be taken." Dan Barker

Worshiping God?
Submitted by Stephen WintersI was raised as a Christian and thought of myself as that for many years. However, in recent years the "Christian" identity of God has changed and expanded for me. I have liked the way that Bishop Carlton Pearson said it in the title of one of his books: "God Is Not a Christian, Nor a Jew, Muslim, Hindu...: God Dwells with Us, in Us, Around Us, as Us"

Religion, Science, and Truth
Submitted by Stephen WintersBlogs:For quite some time I have been thinking that Faith and Science should be doing the same thing, searching for that which is true. To me, a "person of faith" should be a diligent scientist, not just blindly following whatever is call "matters of faith."

Does God Have an Anger Managment Problem?
Submitted by Stephen WintersBlogs:Site Keywords:For a Christian it is a very scarey concept to question God. In fact, in the Bible it says, "Who are you to question God?" Romans 9:20.

Being A True Friend
Submitted by Stephen WintersBlogs:Can you be a true friend to someone if that someone not acting honorably or is not being a true friend to you. Is reciprocity a requirement of true friendship?
A true friend does not help a friend to avoid consequences of wrong-doing. Rather a true friend will encourage and motivate you to do the right thing within the context of accepting the consequences.
A true friend will not necessarily shun his friend who had done wrong. Rather, depending upon circumstances, the true friend may choose to walk with his friend through the midst of the consequences.

What is God: What do I mean when I say God?
Submitted by Stephen WintersBlogs:What is God?
What do I mean when I say God?
These two things are not necessarily the same thing. Just because I think that God is something does not make it so. At times the word "God" seems beyond my ability to understand or comprehend. And yet for the sake of understanding I must try to explain what I mean when I say God. -

What Am I?
Submitted by Stephen WintersBlogs:As I look around me and look on the Internet I see many labels by which people call themselves. "I am a Christian." "I am a ex-Christian", ,"I am a non-Christian", "I am a Baptist.", "I am a Budhist." and so on.
As I look at all this, I ask myself, "What am I?"

God is Love: So Are You, Live Out Who You Are
Submitted by Stephen WintersBlogs:Site Keywords:True love is from God and is based upon who He is; "God is Love." Because He is love, he is the source of all true love.
Now what does that mean? God loves because that is who he is. That is His nature. We are his children. As his children, we take on the character and nature of God: therefore we are love. We love because that is who we are. Also, remember, love is a verb, it is a "being" and "doing" word. Love is who we are and, because of that, love is what we do.

When You Borrow Something
Submitted by Stephen WintersSite Keywords:Special considerations need to be considered before you borrow anything . It's not as simple as just using one of your own items. You need to take better care of a borrowed item.
